Welcome to New Albany Workshop (“we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our online store at www.newalbanyworkshop.com (the “Site”) and any purchases, custom orders, or interactions you make with us through the Site. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our website.

1. Our Products

All of our items are handcrafted from natural wood. Because of this, each piece will have unique variations in color, grain, texture, and finish. These natural differences are part of the charm and authenticity of handmade work. We make every effort to accurately represent our products through photos and descriptions, but we cannot guarantee that your item will look exactly like the one pictured.

2. Custom Orders

We gladly accept custom requests for furniture, cutting boards, wall art, and other handcrafted pieces.

• Before production begins, we will provide a written quote and estimated completion date.
   
• A non-refundable deposit equal to 50% of the quoted total is required to begin the project.
   
• The remaining balance is due prior to delivery, pickup, or shipment.
   
• Because custom pieces are made specifically for you, custom orders cannot be canceled, returned, or exchanged once production begins.

3. Prices 

All prices are listed in U.S. dollars and are subject to change without notice. We accept payment through secure online platforms such as credit/debit cards or PayPal. Orders are not considered final until payment has been processed in full (or deposit received for custom orders).

4. Shipping and Delivery

We offer free standard shipping within the United States on all orders from the catalog. Shipping is not offered for furniture or other large items.

• Orders are shipped securely and promptly once completed.
   
• Shipping times vary depending on item size and destination.
   
• We are not responsible for carrier delays or damage once the package leaves our workshop.
   
• Local pickup is available in New Albany, Ohio, by arrangement.

• Customers purchasing large items, such as indoor or outdoor furniture, must make their own arrangements for pickup or freight shipping.
   

At this time, we do not offer international shipping.

5. Returns and Exchanges

We want you to love your purchase. Our policy is as follows:

• Standard Catalog Items: You may return standard, non-custom items within 30 days of delivery for a refund or exchange. Returned items must be in original, unused condition.
   
• Custom Orders: Because custom items are made to your specifications, they are not eligible for return or exchange.
   
• Return Process: To initiate a return, contact us at benjamin@newalbanyworkshop.com. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs and must ensure the item is securely packaged. Refunds will be issued once the returned item is received and inspected.
   
• Damaged or Defective Items: If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, please contact us within 7 days of delivery so we can arrange a replacement or repair.

6. Customer Care and Product Use
 

Our woodcrafts are built to last when cared for properly. Please follow these care guidelines:

• Cutting Boards: Hand-wash only with mild soap and water. Do not soak or place in a dishwasher. Periodically treat with food-safe mineral oil or board conditioner to maintain finish.
   
• Furniture & Decor: Avoid exposure to direct heat, moisture, or prolonged sunlight. Dust regularly and clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
   
• Outdoor Furniture: Apply sealant or protective oil annually to maintain durability and weather resistance.
   

Failure to follow care instructions may lead to premature wear or damage and is not covered under refund or replacement policies.

7. Intellectual Property

All website content — including images, product designs, text, and branding — is the property of Hearts Rekindled and may not be copied, modified, or distributed without our written permission.

8. Limitation of Liability

Hearts Rekindled is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use or misuse of our products or website. All items are intended for normal household or decorative use. Misuse, improper installation, or modification of our products voids any implied warranties.

9. Legal Disclaimer

Wood is a natural material that responds to changes in temperature and humidity. Small movements, cracks, or color variations are normal and not considered defects. Handmade items may display subtle tool marks or finish differences that reflect their handcrafted nature.

Hearts Rekindled is not responsible for damage resulting from improper care, exposure to water, or environmental conditions. Always follow product-specific care instructions provided at purchase or listed on our website. 

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
